This is the AARF logo, which shows shows three animals on a yellow life raft: a small black and white kitten, a larger brown dog with a collar (a symbol of good animal care practice) and a small black and white dog. Grey clouds suggest an urgent need to find good homes for these animals. The raft (floating on blue waves representing the Caribbean sea surrounding Anguilla) shows that these animals have protectors in AARF and its many supporters. Finally, the sun peeks out from behind the clouds, signifying hope for these deserving animals.

Anguilla Dog Washes and Vaccination Clinics

With dog/puppy/cat wash events, AARF partners with the Saint James School of Medicine and Morlens Veterinary Clinic with an important community outreach project that serves to give needy pets flea and tick shampoos, vaccinations, exams and allows for educating the public about fleas/ticks/parasites (and their dangers) and provides face to face education about the need for spay and neuter — and the fact that financial assistance is able to reduce the cost to free in many cases! (AARF pays for the surgeries.)

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers at the Saint James School of Medicine and Morlens!

As part of the St. James Community Outreach program, the students give back to the community. One great way they do that is by doing the labor of washing dogs, puppies, cats, and even the occasional kitten at these events, and AARF supplies the shampoo, hoses and the other materials needed to batch the animals. They always take this on with huge smiles, and throw themselves wholeheartedly into the events. You can see that from the photos.

Not to be outdone, Morlens closes the clinic and sends one of their veterinarians and staff to do free vaccinations and exams; AARF pays for the medications.

Here are photos and information from our past events:
