Anguilla Puppy Wash March 18, 2017
A few photos from our Event
Thanks to our wonderful volunteers at the Saint James School of Medicine and Morlens!
We had a great event on Saturday, March 18th at the Blowing Point Youth Development/Community Centre. The turnout by the commuity was very heavy, and the event was a great success. We think the number of exams, washes and vaccinations equaled the November event.
As part of the St. James student and Morlens Veterinary Clinic Community Outreach projects, the following were offered:
- Free medicated shampoo and wash (to remove fleas and ticks) was performed by the students. AARF supplied the shampoo and other washing gear and the students did the washing and networking with the owners.
- Free vaccination clinic hosted by AARF. Any eligible dog or cat got a free vaccination and exam by Morlens vet, Dr. Swanston. Morlens staff was also on hand to help.
- Hot dogs, drinks and snacks were sold by St. James students as a fundraiser for their graduation ceremony.
Thanks go to the St. James Student and Morlens for this great event.
AARF, Anguilla's dogs and cats, and of course their owners were greatly helped by this. In fact, by our preliminary count, some 50 dogs and cats arrived to be bathed and some 42 vaccinations and exams were given. (A similar event was held last November at the St. James Medical School. See photos from that event.)
Here are just a few photos:
